Church of Our Lady of Valverde

It was probably already in ruins by the end of the 18th century, as reflected in a report by Vicar Devilla in 1824. In 1836 the building was renovated and dedicated to Our Lady of Valverde with the contribution of catechism teacher Maddalena Lei and rector Salvatore Cossu. In the following 30 years, the church was used as a girls’ school. But the subsequent structural conditions prompted Mayor Dr. Toma Satta to order its demolition. The work was to be completed within one month from the date of the ordinance, which is why it is assumed that in January 1903 the church must have already been demolished. The structure, as it stands today, was rebuilt only in the 1930s thanks to contributions from Mr. Baingio Camboni.
