The country church of St. George the Martyr is characterized by an important front porch, pseudonarthex or exonarthex, with a stone cornice supporting the round arches made of brick and stone material. The building has substantial side buttresses, also made of brick and stone, and a large architraved portal. The bell tower is ribbed with ogival brick arches. Inside it consists of four chapels with two altars in addition to the high altar. Two bells from the 16th and 18th centuries are present. The pulpit is dated 1899 made of wood by artisan Vacca of Lunamatrona. About the origin of this church there are some ancient legends, the most important of which is narrated by the bas-relief installed in the park wall, part of the “Contus de Pedra” project. The church is reached via a large sandstone front staircase that divides the underlying municipal park named after Antonio Cau, mayor. The upkeep of the little church is taken care of by the standing committee named after the saint, with only donations and offerings collected from the sale of the Pani Saba donated by the faithful on April 22. There are records of such an entity as early as 1700. The current one was established in 1951, run by Antonio Cau. Since 1988, he has been succeeded by Prof. Giampiello Cau. On Dec. 14, 2023, the Stone establishing Sini as one of the 14 stages of the Bonaria Walk, which crosses Sardinia from Olbia to the Basilica of Bonaria in Cagliari, was placed in the churchyard.
