L’Ecole de Madame Foile is a social promotion association that has been operating in the area for 14 years. It is a residential educational community that works with women in fragile conditions. Through art, the principle of sisterhood, and contact with nature, she supports each woman involved so that she can find her own path to healing, balance, and empowerment.
The association runs the residential educational community, Maison sur la lune, and the Textile Art School, unique in all of Sardinia and a place of continuous artistic research and experimentation. Weaving, the creation of a work is a meditative experience that leads to an inner search and self-discovery. Women learn all stages of developing a fabric, from carding to spinning, dyeing with wild herbs, to more complex weaving techniques. They mainly use natural materials such as wool, cotton, linen or recycle in their handicrafts. This is the case with the Movietessil line, a unique textile project that gives new life to VHS tapes, for which the association holds the copyright.
In addition to weaving activities, various artistic paths such as theater, singing, writing, and knitting are pursued. The restoration of the house, the painting and masonry works, the furniture, as well as the management of the textile continuation are taken care of by the women of the community.
