SIT 2023: Imago Mundi with Open Monuments is among Europe’s top 15 social entrepreneurs

We are proud to announce that the Open Monuments project is one of the finalists in this year’s Social Innovation Tournament.

Thus Imago Mundi was notified by email of this important milestone.
The Social Innovation Tournament recognizes and supports Europe’s best social entrepreneurs, promoting innovative ideas and rewarding initiatives that help create social, ethical and/or environmental impact.
In the Grand Final in Stockholm, Open Monuments will also compete for the first prize of €100,000, the second prize of €40,000 and the audience prize of €10,000. The Grand Final – Spark Moments – will be held in Stockholm on September 28.

Fifteen finalists from 10 countries have been selected for the Social Innovation Tournament 2023, the flagship initiative of the Institute’s social program that recognizes and supports the best impact entrepreneurs in Europe.

From innovative solutions such as green hydrogen activation, early dementia detection or inclusion in housing access to heritage protection, finalists aim to generate social, ethical or environmental impact. They come from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Malta (for the first time in the 12 editions of SIT) Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The finalists were selected from an outstanding pool of 284 applicants from 33 of 42 eligible countries.

A tailored training program (a mentoring bootcamp, online coaching and test days) will provide the 15 impact initiatives with the guidance they need to finalize their proposals. This training will prepare them to present their solution before a panel of social innovation specialists from academia and business on September 27 (invitation-only event) and to the public on September 28, 2023 at the Spark Moments and Awards ceremony (open event) .

Five prizes will be awarded: the 1st and 2nd prizes in the general category and the special category of 100,000 and 40,000 euros, respectively, and an audience prize of 10,000 euros. This year’s special category awards will go to projects that address solutions for sustainable cities and communities.

Finalists from all SIT editions become members of the
SIT Alumni Network
. As such, they can benefit from numerous training opportunities and an innovation grant program, and attend conferences across Europe, network with investors, venture philanthropists and foundations that can help them scale their impact.
