Ittiri is located in Logudoro, in the region of Coros, in the province of Sassari. The settlement, nestled on a plateau, is surrounded by a picturesque and fertile land that alternates between olive groves and vineyards, plateaus and flat areas. Its historic center still preserves paved and cobblestone streets, majestic mansions rich in trachyte architectural embellishments, statues and elements of urban decoration.
A thriving place since antiquity, as evidenced by the numerous archaeological vestiges referable to the prehistoric, Punic, Roman and medieval ages, Ittiri is today an important center, renowned for its craft traditions such as textile and embroidery activities and trachyte working, and for its agricultural and food productions. For years, among other things, it has been the site of an international folk dance festival in the summer featuring artists from around the world.
