Trinità d’Agultu e Vignola is a town of 2,390 inhabitants located in northern Sardinia.
The name derives from the Holy Trinity, to whom the parish church is dedicated, and from the site “Agultu” at which it stands. The town came into being in the early 18th century when a number of families decided to settle around the ancient Church of the Holy Trinity. The vast area was part of the municipality of Ag- gius until 1958, when Trinità d’Agultu e Vignola became an autonomous municipality. There are as many as 10 consecrated churches in the area, including the country churches of St. Michael, St. Anthony, St. Peter, St. Joseph, St. John of Lu Colbu and St. Mary of Vignola, all of which are easily reached by car.
A town that bears witness to a distant past, with its stories and legends, that does not renounce traditions and ancient flavors that come together in a happy union of sacred rites and civil celebrations on the most important occasions, but is also well rooted in the present with the main services, public and private, available to its inhabitants and to those who would like to visit.
