The proposed route takes in two important historical buildings in the former Pirri municipality representative of a community that, between the 19th and 20th centuries, held considerable importance, not only in the agricultural field, for the production of wine and spirits, but also in the industrial sphere, as evidenced by the presence of the Ex Glassworks and Ex Distillery buildings.
Saddi-Grippo House, Villa Balilla 35. The house was built in 1857 by Pietro Saddi, a well-known Impera, great-great-grandfather of the current owners, the Grippo brothers. It is a typical traditional Pirri house, representing perhaps the only real evidence of a Campidanese house within the Pirri area, which still preserves, almost unchanged, the original structure.
Casa Saddi, Via Enrico Toti 24 Located between Via Enrico Toti and Via Ettore Fieramosca, it was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by Vittorio Saddi. It was the Saddi family’s home and center for wine production and marketing and was inhabited until 2012.
