Itinerary on epidemics Cagliari

Along the way, we will examine the relationship between the places and monuments present and some of the epidemics that struck the city of Cagliari: the Baroque plague, the epidemic of 1816, and the smallpox epidemic of 1829. The funerary monuments themselves will guide us in our narrative: the statues of children who died of diphtheria or other childhood diseases, the tombstones and statues dedicated to women who died in childbirth or puerperal fever.

One space will be devoted to describing the discovery of cephalosporins by the great scientist Brotzu and the link between the Punic necropolis and malaria.
