In a route that starts from the archaeological site of Tanca Linarbus-characterized by insurgencies ranging from Nuragic to Roman times-lapping the canals of Santa Gilla, crossing the railroad underpass and then continuing not far from the ancient road route, we will head toward the Victorian complex of Santa Caterina di Semelia. A plunge into the thousand-year history that characterizes the Elmas area, closely linked to the fate of the nearby Punic, then Roman and Judicial city of Cagliari, and deeply connected to the waters of the lagoon.
With the nearly 100-year-old airport looming in the distance, we will arrive at the gates of St. Catherine’s, where we will leave visitors in the hands of the St. Catherine’s Committee for a final dive into the beautiful monastic complex that was the heart of the medieval settlement of Semelia.
