In the Funtanedda district is the small house dating back to 1940, known as Casa Abis, which belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Pietro Abis and Gilla Demontis. An exhibition of original women’s and men’s clothing from the Terralbese tradition will be set up in the little house; especially the women’s clothing items such as skirts, shirts, pabixeddas, gippoi, muccadoris, sciallus, tell the story of women’s lives and social status. Enriching the exhibition will be a photo exhibit curated by Marco Frattini, which will feature shots from the past depicting Terralbese men and women in traditional festive attire and those worn in daily life. Inside the Abis house, original furnishings will frame the trousseaux (bedspreads, sheets, pillowcases, towels, aprons) brought as dowries by our grandmothers. In the kitchen, some women in the traditional dress of bakers will offer visitors a demonstration of the preparation of typical Terralbese bread and “is piricchittus,” baked in a wood-fired oven. The courtyard will be set up with some farm equipment, tools and utensils from the farming world of the past. It will also host stalls with Sardinian handicrafts. The setting up of the exhibition is by the “San Ciriaco” Terralba Folk Group, led by its president Emma Piras.
