The nuragic complex of Aidu-Corru ‘e Oe, with the presence of two nuraghi, the remains of village and a tomb of giants constitutes a significant ensemble for the reconstruction of the historical events of the territory of Cossoine, with reflections on the extensive Logudoro-Meilogu region. The single-tower Nuraghe Corru ‘e Oe stands on a small plateau where it appears to be closely connected visually with the visual quadrilobate Aidu and with three others (Su Truppu-Accas-Furraghes) that apparently belonged to a single defensive and surveillance system of the territory. The remains of a village, consisting of circular huts, were found near the Nuraghe; the planimetric study showed historical phases of later ages, mainly Roman and early medieval with wall constructions called “frame”. The Nuraghe Aidu, of a complex type, most likely represented a nerve center of the area, a sort of center to which all the monotowers in the surrounding area reported; the choice of location must have been influenced not only by the control of the territory but also by the presence of considerable natural resources. Not far away is the Tomb of the Giants of the same name, the subject of recent investigations.
