In an atmospheric route that winds along the streets of the historic center, 34 ancient portals built by local craftsmen between 1896 and 1938 can be admired. Most have the characteristic physiognomy of a round arch made of stone with a face and less frequently of brick. The arch appears to be set on smooth, fluted or molded capitals resting on piers almost always determined by two large parallelepiped blocks. Above the arch, a slab is often inscribed with the initials of the former owner accompanied by the year of construction. The wooden gates reflect an austere and essential style characteristic of the agro-pastoral societies of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, only in a few cases are decorative carving motifs depicting human faces, passing lions or phytomorphic motifs noted.
