Ancient Secci Mill

One of the economic activities that has always predominated in Quartu is that related to the cultivation of wheat. It was not until around 1913 that the first milling plant was established, but the only one still standing is the one that saw the light of day in the spring of 1949. A durum wheat grinding mill was purchased by Paolo Secci father of Giorgio, who inherited the facility after about 20 years of operation by his parents. The Old Mill was manually assembled by workers who stayed in the Secci house until the work was completed. They built, adapted and shaped all the elements on site until the machinery was assembled and tested for milling.
