Bell Tower of the Church of San Ponziano

To the right of the Church of St. Pontian is the bell tower, the construction of which began in October 1937 to be completed on 15/10/1938. The bell tower was built with a square plan developed vertically on 5 modules. The exterior cladding is of red trachyte for the entire elevation except for the terminal spire of red brick. It reproduced the lines of that of Aquileia veneta, in honor of the high contribution of blood shed by the Sardinians of the Sassari Brigade in the Venetian plains in the Great War. Aquileia’s bell tower is 73 meters high, while Carbonia’s is 43 meters high.
