Boyl Palace

The palace was so named after the illustrious family of Valencian origin, the Boyls, who arrived in Sardinia around 1300 during the Judicial period.
According to some hypotheses, it is to this period that the first layout of this building dates; in fact, the rear elevation is solid brick with pointed arches, typical of Gothic-Aragonese architecture.
The building underwent several renovations and became the home of the Vacca family until the last decades of the 1700s when the house and its outbuildings passed to the Boyl family.
It was during this period that the most important changes were made; the Aragonese-Gothic style that characterized the entire structure was incorporated into a new layout, characterizing it as one of the most valuable examples of Piedmontese neo-classicism in the non-city setting.
