Campanile di Santa Maria

The bell tower of St. Mary’s Cathedral, characterized by the elegant Gothic-Catalan style, has an octagonal shape and culminates in a majolica-tiled pyramidal spire adorned with cataracts. Particularly fine is the portal located at the base of the bell tower, similar to those of La Pieta and Santa Eulalia in Barcelona Cathedral, which date to the first half of the 15th century. The bell tower was built in the second half of the 16th, century at the same time that the old parish church of Santa Maria was rebuilt. And today it can be visited thanks to restorations carried out in 1993.
