On May 25, 1997, “spawned” from that of Loreto, the cloistered Carmel “Nazareth of the Incarnate Word” of the Discalced Carmelites was born. The idea for its realization has roots far back in time. Between the summer of 1989 and the early 1990s, with the donation by a generous family of a piece of land in an enchanting, lonely place, suitable for fostering contemplative life, near the “Nuraghe de Su Lillu,” began the journey that would lead to the construction of the cloistered complex with the laying of the foundation stone on May 1, 1994. The monastery, still incomplete, was inaugurated three years later, on May 25, 1997. Its church, erected later and consecrated on June 29, 2001, has the Holy Family as its Titular. Built on the side of a green hill overlooking the sea, in the basin at the foot of Bruncu Casteddu, the complex, designed by Eng. Pier Giorgio Ibba, consists of the cloistered rooms and the church.
