The church is located within the S.I.C. “Monti Russu” area, situated on the rocks of Punta di Li Francesi. It faces the sea and was built in 1939 together with the contribution of humble offerings from the local people and Ponza fishermen, devoted to their patron saint St. Silverio, who from the early 1900s until the 1950s, practiced lobster fishing in the sea of Vignola, which ran from May to September. The church has a single room with a single nave inside, and there is a small bell tower at the top. Behind the altar is a statue of St. Silverio, brought as a gift by Ponza fishermen from their home island. Since 1953, it has also housed the statues of St. Rose and St. Anthony, donated by Antonio Peru and Rosa Mannoni, owners of the land on which the church stands. The exterior structure is made of regular granite and mortar ashlars with green fixtures, framed by simple white plaster; with the whiteness of its colors it makes itself clearly visible from the entire coastal strip.
