Church restored in 2015. The Catalan Gothic layout is visible in the beautiful star vault with pendulous gems of the Capilla Mayor from the late 16th century. The seventeenth century saw the erection of side chapels and the square-barrel bell tower. In 1670 Domenico Spotorno created a Baroque three-aisle layout with a rhythmic system of domes, modeled after Cagliari Cathedral. In the mid-eighteenth century the altar and baptismal font in polychrome marbles inlaid by Giovanni Battista and Michele Spazzi were made. In 1776 Charles Maino proceeded with raising the nave, which he covered with a barrel vault, and the façade was redesigned with a “Carabiniere lucerna” profile. The vault decorations date back to 1930. News about the Santa Barbara Parish Church is taken from the research and studies of Alessandra Pasolini, Luciana Lai and Fabrizio Tola. Inside you can admire the splendid statue of Saint Efisio, restored in 2018 and returned to its former glory, showing the beautiful estofado de oro that decorates the statue in all its parts. This is a popular Sardinian-made work from the mid-17th century. Although we have no certain elements, the statue could be attributed to Master Pedru Muru.
