Church of St. John

The Church of St. John stands on a medieval building and was consecrated in 1174.

The present arrangement is the result of the radical enlargement to which the Romanesque building was subjected in the 17th century. Of note are the wooden altar and the early 17th-century canvas by Baccio Gorino with musician angels and Saints Charles Borromeo, Anthony Abbot and Gavino of Torres.

One chapel displays the simulacra, all of Spanish manufacture, that accompany the rites and processions of Holy Week. In fact, the church is home to the Confraternity of the Holy Cross established in 1606.
