Work on the construction of the present church in the Sangiovannese center began in January 1958 and was completed in September 1959. A work of architect Di Tomassi, it is distinguished by its modern style and square bell tower. On one facade is a large mosaic made by Filippo Figari which represents St. John the Baptist reaping the fruits of water donated by the Monte Pranu dam.
