The church of San Lorenzo is the most important religious building in the town of Villanovafranca. The first planting of the church dates back to 1591, as attested by the central ashlar of the Gothic-Aragonese vault, which also bears an effigy of the saint; the enlargement desired by Rector F. Senis must be dated to 1773.
Of particular importance is the 1789 marble decor by artist G.B. Spazzi, which consists of the altar, balustrade, pulpit and baptismal font.
