Church of St. Lucy

We do not know the precise date of construction, however, we do know from written sources that in 1609 a concession was given for the construction of a convent of Franciscan friars adjacent to the church by the then bishop of Sassari. This was later never built but we know for certain therefore that the church already existed at that time.

The church is made of local stone and has a single nave with a barrel vault. The feast of St. Lucy is still very much celebrated, but in the past it was preceded by a novena and the characteristic “izadolzu,” a prayer vigil inside the church and a party with dancing outside. The feast of St. Bartholomew the Apostle, August 24, was also celebrated there.
