Aritzo’s parish church represents the hub around which the stories of its inhabitants have revolved. Rising in the historic center on a presumably Romanesque plan, it has undergone numerous renovations over the centuries, which have changed its original layout. It is sober and elegant in its architectural lines, with its beautiful bell tower, composed facade and splay windows, harmoniously distributed along the aisles. The church has a single nave with three side chapels on each side, travertine slab floors. On the right side of the building stands the tall and massive square-bore bell tower in late Gothic style. Some of the side chapels are embellished with prestigious works of art. These include the 18th-century statue of St. Christopher, a 15th-century silver cross, the polychrome wooden sculpture of the Pieta, which came to Aritzo in the early 18th century, and paintings by local artist Antonio Mura.
