The church is located in the parish officially established in 1974, when the then Archbishop of Sassari, Msgr. Paolo Carta, entrusted the pastoral care, as founding pastor, to Fr. Salvatore Ruiu, who had already begun his pastoral work in the so-called “Satellite Village.” The first liturgical activities began to take place with great enthusiasm in fallback venues: basements, porches of council houses or in neighborhood squares. In 1993, the municipality decided to give the parish a large hall to which Fr. Salvatore, with the help of the community, was able to give “church-like appearance.” In the years that followed, the hope of realizing a real, capacious and functional church never subsided, and the dream of the faithful was finally realized on June 19, 2016, when the church was officially inaugurated with the dedication to God by Archbishop Paolo Atzei.
