The church was built in 1970. The original design, prepared by surveyor Francesco Parodi, had undergone some changes. Seven paintings can be seen in the single nave, six of which were made by the group of artists called the “Group of 7.” There is another painting in the chapel to the left of the altar while, on the wall to the right of the entrance, there is a painting executed much more recently by a young painter from Porto Torres. The “Group of 7” is a group of artists from Porto Torres that was formed in the early 1970s and consists of six painters and a photographer. The group included painters Pia Ruggiu, Vittorio Cardone, Antonio Schiaffino, Paolo Battistella, Lino Proli, Ignazio Rum, and photographer and screen printer Maurizio Ruzzeddu.
