Civic Archaeological Museum

Opened in 1982, it is housed in an elegant mid-nineteenth-century building originally used as a “Monte di Soccorso” or grain bank. The first level houses numerous Nuragic artifacts found within the village of “Genna Maria” and in particular, from the various rooms of the so-called “Central Court House.” Thanks to the entire furnishings of this dwelling, it has been possible to reconstruct what was the daily life of the inhabitants. On the upper floor: the Marmilla room, houses finds from various parts of the territory; the showcases of the Punic-Roman room contain grave goods and material found inside the “Genna Maria” nuraghe. The last room is devoted to early medieval finds.
