The Corpus Hall is part of the Su Pranu complex.
It is a large, recently renovated hall that owes its name to “Su Corpus,” the 186-meter-long hemp net that was lowered into the sea on the first day of the mattanza, consisting of three pieces : death, grade and sofina.
Su Corpus was prepared each year with new material because, being composed of natural material, it deteriorated and was laid on a rack to remain raised off the ground.
In addition to the net, all the consumable material was placed in the hall: nets, marredda, filetu, libanu, cacciavello and, at the end of the season, su bocci bocci, s’aspica, is canis, is glorias, harpoons and salt carts.
In the hall are two iron-lined tubs that served as containers for animal fat used to impregnate the slipway of boats in order to aid gliding to and from the sea.
