II Centro di Restauro e Conservazione dei Beni Culturali is located at Lorenzo Auzzas Street 3 in the neighborhood of Li Punti, within a centuries-old olive grove.
In the laboratories we operate with state-of-the-art instrumentation for the restoration of materials from terrestrial or underwater excavations, from chance finds, or preserved in museums and private collections. Work is carried out, including on the ground, on stone and lithic materials, wall paintings and mosaics, metals, ceramics, glass, and organic material in general.
Also this year, on the occasion of the Monumenti Aperti event, the Center opens to the public to illustrate the archaeological heritage restoration and conservation activities conducted by the Superintendency.
A specific focus is devoted to new archaeological research in the municipal area, with the exhibition “Preventive Archaeology in Sassari,” enriched by the latest findings from the areas of San Lorenzo, Truncu Reale and the urban area of Largo Monache Cappuccine, Via Artiglieria and Piazza Università.
