The complex is the “minor” wing of Palazzo Tassoni Estense, which is also part of the Monumenti Aperti itinerary.
The wing on Via Quartieri was the first to be opened in 1991 as the Faculty of Architecture thanks to the trio of architects Paolo Ceccarelli, Carlo Melograni and Mario Zaffagnini (to whom the department library is dedicated).
Although circumscribed to the span of just over thirty years, the history of the Ferrara School of Architecture is extremely dense with events, qualifying choices, and reputation acquired nationally and internationally.
The school has always relied on the direct and collaborative relationship between students and teachers, committing itself to continuously sustaining the strategic effort to recruit young researchers and teachers also from the professional world.
