Derosas House

The Casa Derosas is an old mansion, now home to an important documentation center.
The structure dates from the late 1800s, once the home of Achille Derosas, one of the town’s leading landowners and Usini’s first mayor.
The house, organized on two floors to which the cellar is added, was built by workers from Bosa who gave it some striking architectural elements, among which the niche decorated with arches at the entrance stands out.
Inside there are numerous rooms such as a rustic kitchen, service rooms, dormitories, reception rooms and a study.
In addition to the charm of the old architecture, a series of frescoes located in one of the reception rooms, depicting scenes with a mythological flavor, a wedding gift from the landlady’s uncle, are still visible.
The house is now a rich heritage of evidence and materials that tell of the customs and traditions of an entire community.
