The 19th-century building designed as a municipal headquarters and school was expanded over the years and housed municipal offices until a decade ago. After the offices were moved to the new location, the entire building was renovated and recently reopened to the public with the aim of making it a cultural hub capable of housing the Library, the Municipal Historical Archives and a museum and exhibition space.
