An old olive press excellently preserved, founded in 1890 by Antonio Bardi, a pioneer in the olive growing industry. He perfected an old plant consisting of a steel-walled grinding wheel, granite base and grindstones, and a hand-operated press that served as a grip. The millstones squeezed the olives driven by the circular motion of a horse. He later switched to charcoal-burning energy. In 1914, the mill was awarded a gold medal and diploma for its outstanding achievements in excellent oil quality. In 1924 his son Battista renovated the system with an electric motor, and the old socket was driven by a water pump. Since 1971 with the cessation of operations, the large bulging sacks of olives containing “sa molinada“, classic measure of about 80 kg. The Bardi family, after Teobaldo, now with his sons, always continues to be involved in olive growing even running a bottling workshop.
