The building, dating from 1895, is described by Vaquer as follows: “The building is not large, it has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped…. On the ground floor are distributed the classrooms for girls’ schools with a solid vault. In the facade is the main entrance, which gives access by means of the (very artistic) staircase to the rooms on the second floor. In this the council chamber stands to the right of the building, in the middle is the staircase and a small room for the usher, to the left is the archive, which receives light from the noon, and the cabinet on the upper floor are very civilized and the vaults adorned with beautiful designs give them an impression of elegance.”
