Francis Ignatius Mannu Statue

Monument celebrating the Ozierese-born Francesco Ignazio Mannu of great historical significance: he, together with his friend Giovanni Maria Angioy, contributed to the liberation of Sardinia from Savoy tyranny.
He is credited with the hymn “Procurade e moderare,” which has been considered the emblem of Sardinian autonomy since the early 1800s.
The monument is placed in the center of the most important town square, Piazza Carlo Alberto, a symbol of the urbanization that led Ozieri to be declared a city by King Carlo Alberto.
Confluent in it are some of the neighborhoods of the historic center that are still known by their old toponyms.
