At 152 Via XX Settembre is the main elevation of a brick building, with a doorway and arched windows, some of them “binate” that is, close together in pairs.
The building was designed by Biagio Rossetti for his family in 1490.
Like almost all Ferrarese architecture, which had to cope with the absence of stone quarries in the vicinity, Casa Rossetti was also built entirely of brick, in structure and decorative elements.
The building remained the property of the Rossetti family until the mid-1700s, while from the next century it began a slow decline. In 1910-11 the building was restored by the Ferrariae Decus association, and in 1974 the house was bought by the municipality, then restored again. Since 1998 and until a few years ago it housed the Musarc (Museum of Architecture).
Today it is the prestigious seat of municipal offices.
