The Oreste Pili House of Culture was opened in 2021, contains various artistic, literary, photographic and pictorial expressions. The exhibition offers the works of the most significant Sardinian artists of the first half of the 20th century, offering: prints of Sardinian costumes by Enrico Costa, views of the towns and city of Cagliari, Giuseppe Biasi’s illustrations for Grazia Deledda’s novel Incendio nell’uliveto, and woodcuts by Mario Delitala, Remo Branca and Giorgio Carta. Illustrations by Primo Sinopico and etchings by Felice Melis Marini. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to Pinocchio, with three illustrated versions, one by Giovanni Manca in 1941, one by Giuseppe Porcheddu in 1943, and one by Primo Sinopico in 1946, and finally the cartoon version “Pinocchio the Adventures of a Puppet” by Aurelio Galleppini. Among a small core of valuable manuscripts, the manuscript of Grazia Deledda’s novella Il Cane, which won the Nobel Prize in 1926, deserves attention.
