Istituto Comprensivo Nuoro 1

The Ferdinando Podda Elementary School (1927/1928) is a Umberto-Fascist-era structure, used for that purpose since 1928 when documents and materials stored in the former Convent of the Observant Friars were transferred. A mass of documents of great interest including report cards and registers dating back to the second half of the 19th century, of pupils and teachers who became well-known personalities in the culture of Nuoro and entered the history of literature in various ways: from Grazia Deledda, whose report card for the 1882-1883 school year can be viewed, to the teacher Francesco Ganga, the socialist Menotti Gallisay to Mariangela Maccioni, the teacher who was suspended from teaching for her anti-fascist activities.
