Locci Zuddas Winery

Winery that arose in Monserrato, the “cradle of wine,” a center that has been at the forefront of the island’s wine-making vocation since the 19th century. The Locci Zuddas Antonio Agency kicked off in the 1950s with Antonio Loccia a landowner who, after spending twenty-seven years in the Navy, upon reaching retirement, devoted himself to this business. The original house, located on Redeemer Street, dates back to 1895, as attested by the date found in a rose window on the facade. Architecturally, the building is placed in the type of manor houses that belonged to the local well-to-do, all of whom were farmers and, in the species, wine growers and winemakers, and reflects, at least in part, the Art Nouveau style (Serafino Agus).
