Marrubiu Train Station

The Marrubiu railway yard dates back to the 19th century.
Inaugurated on January 15, 1872, when the first trains of the Royal Railways traveled the San Gavino Monreale – Oristano route in actual service, it underwent heavy expansion and remodeling, in Fascist style, in the late 1930s. To this day it represents one of the rare examples, in Sardinia, of the architecture of the regime applied to railway stations.
Of particular interest are the main elevation and the one facing the railway, characterized by typical rationalist lines and travertine finishes.
