The first reports of its presence date back to 1763. On two levels, it has granite masonry with inside pointed arches delineating the rooms while the ceilings are exposed wood with chestnut beams. There are small exterior openings equipped with gratings. The pediment of the entrance reads “VENITE, EMITE ABSQUE SILVER, MAGNUM PIETIS OPUS” in Latin meaning “VENITE, BUY WITHOUT MONEY. GREAT WORK OF PIETY,” thus meaning that the peasants could borrow grain and that always with grain they had to pay off the debt. The Granary Mountains, desired by the Piedmont Administration, came into being to continue the work of the Spaniards, run by the parish priests. The institution would come to the end of the 1800s by transforming into Cassa Ademprivile, merging in 1928 into the Istituto di Credito Agrario per la Sardegna, absorbed around the 1950s by Banco di Sardegna.
