The Historical Archives of the Municipality of Villasor includes the records of the Community (1844-1848) and the Modern Municipality (1849-1969).
Institutional acts and administrative documents divided into 22 Series pertaining to politics, management of public affairs and citizenship.
In addition to the collections of the Municipal Archives in the strict sense, eight Aggregate Archives (Compagnia Barracellare; Aqueduct Consortium; Road Consortium; Municipal Assistance Board; Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale; Monte di Soccorso; National Fascist Party; Conciliatura Office) containing records from the period 1844-1970 are currently identified and inventoried, and these are of fundamental historical interest.
Indeed, the Archives are a place where so many histories of the Institution and the Community are collected and handed down, the only documented historical memory of a municipality.
The Villasor Historical Archives is located at the premises located on the ground floor of the former Capuchin Convent.
From 2021 to date, it has been undergoing a document recovery and reorganization project aimed at making it available for consultation by the citizenry.
The stages of recovery, including the delicate restoration work carried out on the paper material, articulation and consultation will be described.
