The Nature Trail, created by the Asinara National Park and the Forestry Authority of Sardinia, runs about 800 meters through fragrant Mediterranean scrub along the coast. The trail is also designed for people with disabilities. In fact, the first panels along the path illustrate the operation of the trail to blind people, using braille language. The walk features thirteen rest stops with caption panels and eight tactile stations. A rope handrail guides visitors along the entire length of the trail, alerting them with one or more nodes to the presence of stations and breaks along on the path. At the various stops, the peculiarities of the flora and fauna found on the park island are illustrated on panels. Asinara, a National Park since 1997, is part of the municipal territory of Porto Torres and covers about 52 square kilometers. The presence of numerous animal and plant species characterizes the landscape of one of the most fascinating islands in the Mediterranean, which is subject to environmental protection by the Asinara National Park Authority.
