Nuraghe “Sa Domu Beccia”

At the foot of Mount Arci, in an area inhabited n since the Late Neolithic period (4th-early 3rd millennium BC), lies the majestic nuragic complex of “Sa Domu Beccia.”
Made of more or less hewed basaltic rock, the nuraghe consists of seven towers joined together by a rampart.
In the center of the area is located the keep, i.e., the central tower, which is accessed through a courtyard, provided with a well over 11 m deep.
Inside the keep, the original floor is still preserved and three flights of stairs depart, which were supposed to lead to the upper levels that have unfortunately been lost.
The splendid fort is surrounded by a heptagonal turreted ante-mural, inside which a number of huts have been identified.
The entire area measures 3600 m2 in total.
The dating of the complex is between the Bronze Age and the early Iron Age, between 1150 and 750 BC.
