The spring represents the only evidence of a place of worship in the territory of Ploaghe. It is located on a hill in the immediate vicinity of the town, in the area called Serras, near the remains of the nuraghe Frades Mareos, which can be reached by a dirt road that connects to the town exit for Chiaramonti. It is in good condition, despite having been repeatedly tampered with in its basic architectural elements. It is built with medium and large trachyte blocks, has a corridor paved with regular boulders, 5.10 m long that precedes the circular tholos chamber, with a domed vault, where the water vein is enclosed. The corridor originally must have had seats placed along the side walls, and the opening allowing access to the cell, currently quadrangular, must originally have been trapezoidal.
