Officially founded in September 1995, on the occasion of Mauro Staccioli’s anthological exhibition, the Museum of Contemporary Art “su logu de s’iscultura” was born, as a sculpture park project, in October 1994, when Edoardo Manzoni, was invited to Arbatax – Porto Frailis in order to contribute with his experience, to the organization of an open-air sculpture exhibition. “Su logu de s’iscultura” deals with urban and environmental sculpture always considering three different theoretical methodologies and practices of intervention, rooted in the events of Italian and international experimentation of the last decades. In addition to the proposition of artists who historically work about the concept of “open space,” the sculpture museum also accompanies an itinerary marked by the achievements of exponents of more recent generations. The artists who participated in the project are: Maria Lai, Gianfranco Pardi, Igino Panzino, Giovanni Campus, Mauro Staccioli, Massimo Kaufmann, Maurizio Bertinetti, Alfredo Pirri, Corrado Bonomi, Antonio Levolela, Pietro Coletta, Ascanio W. Renda, Hidetoshi Nagasawa, Umberto Mariani, Alex Pinna.
It currently consists of 21 works (7 of which are being restored).
