The archives and library are now kept in the premises of St. Peter’s Church (Casa del Fanciullo) and consist of several funds, the most important being the volumes donated to the parish by our illustrious fellow citizen Giovanni Spano with texts from the 15th and 16th centuries, books on theology, history, philosophy, biblical exegesis and the study of ancient languages. There are a number of books from the Former Convent, important volumes dating back to the 16th century that belonged to Ploaghese priests who lived between 1830 and the early 1900s, and rarer writings including incunabula, cinquecentines and seventeenth-centuries of great value. The Archives contains books concerning the administration of the parish, beginning in 1575, and of urban and rural churches. Also preserved are wills, censuses, inventories, circulars, documents related to pastoral visits, correspondence and the five books in digital format.
