Private chapel Casa Piloni

The private chapel of Casa Piloni, currently owned by the Angius family, located at Via Roma no. 27. It was built in the 1970s; its interior houses the balustrades, columns and a frieze from the Rosary Chapel located in SS Salvatore Parish.

Luigi Piloni, descendant of a noble Venetian family (from Alfonso – Venetian from Feltre, and Eleonora Bogliolo, from Cagliari on his father’s side and from Treviso on his mother’s side), of Catholic stock, was born in Cagliari in the Marina district on October 27, 1907, where he pursued classical studies and graduated in Law in 1930 and in Philosophy in 1940. He published several works on Sardinia and in 1984 donated his rich Sardinian collection (consisting of paintings, engravings, carpets and jewelry) to the University of Cagliari. He died on February 3, 1991, in Rome. His mortal remains rest by his expressed will in the cemetery of Serdiana, a town he was fond of and where he lived for long periods in the last years of his life.
