Built in 1610, in a hilly area that in the past was the scene of two important battles of the Roman period and the boundary line between the Giudicato of Cagliari and the Giudicato of Arborea, it is located close to the border with Villanovaforru.
The building is located in an area characterized by the presence of two nuraghi (still to be excavated), and the remains of giants’ tombs and a nuragic village.
Villanovaforru residents also participated in the religious feast and festival.
The church was recovered from decay by a special volunteer committee and still retains the altar base and the terracotta floor.
On the occasion of the feast of Saint Antiochus in 2018, the church was blessed again and all around it a tree-lined park is being created in a picturesque scenic spot.
