Sa Guardiedda

Along SP 2, a few hundred meters from the junction between Uta and Monte Arcosu in the direction of Siliqua, on the top of a hill 83 meters above sea level, is the chapel de sa Guardiedda with an iron cross beside it. Both were built by Don Raimondo Fresia in 1933 on the occasion of the 19th centenary of the Redemption. It is a site of significant historical and cultural importance to the citizens of Uta, who until 1976 every year in the month of May set out from the parish in a procession for about 6 km until they reached the top of the colle de sa Guardia, where once they arrived, mass was celebrated and the festivities of sa festa de sa Guardiedda began.
